Nerds Next Door
I remember my closest friends back in grade school and how they influenced me into art. I look up to them on how they are so good at sketching/drawing. Most probably hanging out with them was my foundation in my artistic side bcs I really suck on my own. ++
Around >2004, if I recall correctly, we filled the backs of our notebooks with numerous drawings. They mainly consisted of mazes, complete with start-to-finish routes and stickman figures, reminiscent of games like Snake and Ladders, Super Mario, or even metroidvania-style games. We even have diff levels and difficulty where we defeat every stages & bosses by playing rock-paper-scissors and when you lose, your in-game life is deducted. Lmao
I even remember we would hangout when there's no classes, and talk about video games like Battle Realms, Red Alert and more. We were inspired by Codename: Kids Next Door and dreamt of building a treehouse for the 3-4 of us. And that's how we spent our free time during our childhood—immersed in the worlds of anime, cartoons, and video games.
And I know damn sure if all of us were given the privileges and right opportunities, those friends of mine would have been a great game developers to this day.
